Thru-Tubing Systems (TTS) successfully restored production on an offshore well in Malaysia after a failed safety valve and poor seal bore condition prevented installation of an insert valve.
The ambient valve, installed in July 2023, failed approximately one year later, leaving the well offline and unable to flow without a functioning safety valve. Rather than replacing the TRSCSSV with a rig-based intervention, TTS developed and deployed a rigless Annular Control Safety Valve (ACSV) solution.
TTS deployed the ACSV in a straddle assembly set across the control line and engineered a robust seal element specifically designed to withstand repeated cycles of high control line pressure, supporting the long-term reliability of the safety valve system.
Results
The successful application demonstrates how TTS downhole intervention technology can provide an efficient, rigless solution to challenging well integrity and safety valve issues—helping operators restore production while avoiding the cost and complexity of a rig-based intervention.
TTS continues to develop field-proven solutions for well integrity and production challenges across offshore operations worldwide.
